DSPT is a community of scholars committed to every genuine human question and to truth wherever it may be found. We study philosophy and theology for their own sake, recognizing the integrity of each discipline while remaining careful to attend to the significant relationship between them. We draw from the richness of the philosophical and theological traditions in order to engage contemporary scholarship and culture in mutual enrichment for the sake of the common good.

Great Reasons to Attend DSPT

Concurrent MA Program - 2 degrees (MA Philosophy/MA Theology) with 1 thesis
Religion and the Arts - unique with philosophical aesthetics
  • DSPTConcurrent MA Theology / MA Philosophy Student"If I’ve found a concentration of wisdom anywhere, this place is near the top of the list. DSPT is an academic family, situated within a broader community of rich perspectives and resources – one of the most supportive environments I’ve found.

The approach here allows me to engage cultural and civilizational differences by driving towards the roots of thought, belief, desire and value, drawing from the wisdom of the ages to weigh contemporary situations.

DSPT is a community in the real sense of the term: a group of people supporting one another in an effort to become the best versions of ourselves. There is a sense that we are working together in a lifelong quest for the truth." - Megan Furman, Concurrent MA Theology / Philosophy
